Why by the pound

You pay for what it weighs, not what the tag said

Clothing arrives in bulk from the same retail channels that fill the bins. Sorting it onto racks and pricing it piece by piece would double the cost of every garment, so we do the opposite: it goes out by weight, and you keep the difference.

A coat weighs more than a t-shirt, so the coat costs more. That is the only rule. There is no premium for brands and no discount for off-season — the scale does not know what it is holding.

The racks change every week

The mix depends on what the retailers clear out, so treat this as a guide rather than a promise.

  • Denim & casual

    Jeans, shorts, joggers, casual shirts — the heaviest category by far.

  • Knitwear & tops

    Sweaters, hoodies, tees, and long sleeves in every size run.

  • Outerwear

    Jackets and coats. Heavier, so more per piece — and usually the best value in the room.

  • Dresses & formal

    Occasion wear that never made it to the sales floor.

  • Shoes & accessories

    Trainers, boots, belts, and bags, sold by weight with everything else.

  • Kids & baby

    Childrenswear, which weighs very little and costs accordingly.

Weighing up

Getting the most out of $5.00 a pound

    Stack light. Socks, tees, and kids clothes weigh almost nothing and stretch the pound further than a single coat.

  2. 02

    Check the seams and underarms before you commit to the weight — there is no fitting room queue for a $3 shirt.

  3. 03

    Come the same week the racks are refilled if you are looking for a specific size run.

  4. 04

    Shopping for a family? Buy in one pile and weigh once — the minimum is applied to the whole pile, not each item.

  5. 05

    Ask us to hold a pile at the counter if you want to keep digging in the bins.
